A White-Walled Hut
When you drive toward the easternmost edge of the Kanto Plain, you come to the Inubosaki Lighthouse. Even in Chiba Prefecture, once you’ve made it as far as Choshi, it’s a place you always feel like stopping by.
That day, perhaps because it was a weekday and the morning was early, there were only a few people around the lighthouse. As a tourist facility, the lighthouse has an admission fee, but you can go inside and look out at the sea from the upper levels. I don’t know whether the view is truly something exceptional, but it’s strange—whenever I come here, I always end up wanting to climb the lighthouse.
After watching the sea for a while and feeling satisfied, I came down from the lighthouse. Then the white-walled hut right beside it was lit by the intense morning sun.
