Rest Stop on Route 279
I was heading in a southeasterly direction on Route 279 from Ohma, the northernmost point of Honshu, to Osorezan. Despite the narrow and winding road, the flow of passing vehicles seemed faster than usual.
The view of the ocean that occasionally appeared between the houses crammed into the narrow road was stunning.
I concentrated on driving along the coastal road, keeping up with the flow of cars around me, but when we reached an open area by the sea, a rest stop came into view, and I pulled over to take in the view.
The photo shows the back side of the rest area"s public restroom, which was overgrown with dandelions and weeds, as seen from the parking lot where I parked my car.
