The Hell of Mount Osorezan
Mount Osorezan, the main destination of this trip, was an hour"s drive from Oma-zaki, the northernmost point of Honshu. I had wanted to visit this place at least once since I was young. It is located on the shore of a caldera lake called Lake Usoriyama, and the area around the rock face, where the smell of sulfur fills the air, is called hell and is said to be the object of people"s belief.
